What I recommend is an option to disable GPU driver updates and better communication from MS regarding what has of hasn't been installed. Honestly I didn't have a clue as to what had happened to it. Installed Windows 10 and then updated to the latest version. I have been using ever since it was release and it is more stable than Windows 7. my review here
